Greenwood Chess Club Last Night

Overall, I'm happy with the quality of my play. I feel like I'm playing with a deeper understanding of the game.

I'm not perfect. Chess is very complex. A couple of times, I found myself in positions where I thought I had the upper hand, only to discover that my position was actually bad. There is a pattern where I overlook my opponent's attacking chances, probably due to overconfidence. As a result, I lost a couple of games to lower-rated players, but I won the rest.

I have to praise Jay, who is around 1700 strength, for being an excellent calculator. He is very focused and thinks deeply. However, I noticed that he and others often spend a long time thinking about positions that feel intuitive to me. My experience is deeper, so I usually take less time to make my moves. As a result, I won a few games on time.
